By using Kaliero, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Display name and username
  • Profile picture (optional)
  • Bio/description (optional)
  • Skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced, pro)

Location Data

With your permission, we collect location data to:

  • Show calisthenics parks near you
  • Enable check-in functionality at parks
  • Display your general location (city, country) on your profile
  • Suggest nearby groups and events

Location data is only collected while the app is in use and with your explicit consent. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.

Workout & Session Data

When you check in to a park, we collect:

  • Check-in and check-out times
  • Session duration
  • Park ratings (optional)
  • Session notes (optional)
  • Equipment used during your workout
  • Privacy level you select (public, friends only, or friends and groups)

Social Data

To provide social features, we collect:

  • Friend connections and requests
  • Group memberships
  • Posts, comments, and likes
  • Event RSVPs and attendance
  • Social media handles you choose to share (optional)

Device Information

We automatically collect certain device information:

  • Push notification tokens (to send you notifications you opt into)
  • App version and build number
  • Device type and operating system

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Service
  • Show you calisthenics parks near your location
  • Enable you to track your workouts and view your workout history
  • Connect you with other athletes (based on your privacy settings)
  • Send push notifications (friend requests, group activity, events)
  • Personalize your experience with relevant suggestions
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the app
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse

Information Sharing & Disclosure

With Other Users

Depending on your privacy settings:

  • Public profile: Your display name, username, profile picture, city/country, and public workouts are visible to all users
  • Private profile: Only accepted friends can see your activity and full profile
  • Session privacy: You control who sees each workout (public, friends, or friends and groups)

With Service Providers

We share data with trusted third parties who assist us in operating our Service:

  • Supabase: Database, authentication, and file storage
  • Expo: Push notification delivery
  • Google/Apple: OAuth authentication (if you use social login)

These providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on servers provided by Supabase. We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Row Level Security (RLS) policies to restrict data access
  • Secure authentication with session management
  • Regular security updates and monitoring

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights & Choices

Access & Update

You can access and update your personal information at any time through the app's Settings and Edit Profile screens.

Privacy Controls

You can:

  • Set your profile to public or private
  • Choose privacy level for each workout session
  • Control which notifications you receive
  • Manage location permissions through your device settings

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through Settings > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your profile, workout history, and all associated data from our servers.

If you would like to request a copy of your personal data, please contact us at privacy@kaliero.app.

Children's Privacy

Kaliero is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
